What is the meaning of BIODEGRADABLE ?

The term - biodegradable is given by the BIOPLASTICS COUNCIL.

A plastic that undergoes bio-degradation under specified environmental conditions ( a process in which the degradation results from the action of naturally occurring micro-organisms such as bacteria, fungi and algae ) and within specified degradation time as per accepted industry standards. As accepted standards specification in Year 2013, include : ASTM D6400, ASTM D6868, ASTM D7081, ISO17088 and EN13432.

 

What does EBA mean by the term BIODEGRADABLE?

As using the term “ biodegradable ” is used to describe a feature or characteristic of a polymer containing the bio-degradable additive and means increased percent degradation of the carbons in the polymer chain in a given time when EBA additive is present
